Hypnosis for Leadership and Confidence
You are getting very sleepy… now you cluck like a chicken. Not quite.
Clinical hypnosis is not about mind control or stage tricks. It is a state of focused concentration where your brain becomes more open to suggestions that already align with your values and best hopes. You cannot be hypnotized to do something you do not want to. What you can do is shift unhelpful patterns faster than sheer willpower usually allows.
I first trained in hypnosis for medical purposes, helping patients use less anesthetic during painful biopsies or easing phobias. One of my earliest patients was a chain smoker who lit up just before her session. At the end she gagged at the taste in her mouth and declared cigarettes disgusting. She has not smoked since. That was more than ten years ago. Not bad for something people often dismiss as woo-woo.
Decades of research from Dr. David Spiegel at Stanford confirm what I have seen. Hypnosis can reduce anxiety, sharpen focus, and change pain perception. In coaching, I use it as a practical tool for physicians and leaders who want more confidence, less stage fright, and greater presence under pressure. The science is real.
